September 2017 Debt & Life Update

September 2017 Debt & Life UpdateSeptember was a ground-breaking month for me. For the last few weeks, I have been working on something that was on my vision board, my first course. It’s titled “The Beginner’s eBay Course.” I was getting questions every day about eBay. I decided that it was time, so I created the course. There are six modules full of info that will help you make money on eBay.

Module 1 – Goes over creating an account.

Module 2 – Discusses what you should sell.

Module 3 – Talks about listing items.

Module 4 – Gives you info on what to do once an item sells.

Module 5 – Discusses what could happen after the sell.

Module 6 – Goes over ways to promote your items.

The course is only $35. For more info, check it out here.

Because I was so focused on creating my course, my freelance income has been the lowest it’s been since 2016. I haven’t been making many pitches. I’ll go over that in detail in my third quarter income report which will go live in October.

Who knew that starting a blog four years ago would change my life like this? I’ve created a course, and I’m knocking out this debt one month at a time.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a blog, the time is now.  Check out my step by step guide on creating a website with Bluehost. Use my link to get your hosting for as little as $3.95 per month (this low price is only available through my link). It usually costs $7.99 per month. It’s now time for the monthly debt update. My debt went from $61,777.00 to $61,387.40. That was a decrease of $389.60 That’s not bad considering that my side hustle income has dropped a little bit and I’m paying taxes.

Below are the numbers.

Loan 2 – Down from $3550 to $3240

Navient – Down from $23,416.70 to $23,344.33

Nelnet – Down from $34,810.30 to $34,803.17

I was looking at my numbers, and I noticed something a couple of days ago. I started my debt repayment in January 2015 with a balance of $72,703.05. I’m currently at $61,387.40. I’ve paid off $11,315.65 worth of debt. That’s a semi-big deal to me. It feels good to know that I’m finally making real progress. My debt will be under 60K before January 1st. I’m excited and focused now, more than ever to make this debt a thing of the past.
