I hope everyone had a safe & fun 4th of July weekend. Today’s post is my monthly life update. June was a great month. I previously stated that May was my best month for page views. That changed in June. I nearly had 11,000 page views that month. I’ve been implementing a few new strategies to get more traffic. They are slowly working. Also, it doesn’t hurt to have a FB page with over 800,000 likes share one of your articles. Thanks Penny Hoarder! I also reached one of my subscriber goals in June as well. Lastly, I had 25 more people like The Butler Journal’s FB page too.

Update to my Bucket List

5 Things to do in Cleveland, Ohio

In late June I had the opportunity to scratch something else off my bucket list. I participated in my first 5K. I did a combo of running and walking since it was my first one. I finished the race in a total of 45 minutes. I plan on running in that race again next year. Below are a couple of pictures.

With it already being early July I have to ramp up the extra income. I slipped up/procrastinated/Bs’d around (or whatever you want to call it) and didn’t plan right, so I missed out on getting my FinCon pass at the reduced rate. No worries though I’m getting it this month with the help of my side hustles.

I’m also doing something that I’m calling the $50 challenge. Next time I go thrifting I plan to spend $50. After I purchase the items I plan to see how much I can flip them for. If I do this right I should have enough money to pay for my FinCon registration with a little left over.

Hopefully this $50 challenge helps my stagnant eBay sales. June was another subpar month for me. I only had $118 in sales. Any extra money is good, but damn I have to make over $200 in July.

How was your June? What do you have planned for July?

  1. You’ve been busy! Congratulations on the run…that’s a wonderful accomplishment. And I’m certain your challenge will net enough for FinCon. You always seem to manage to reach those kind of goals:)

  2. Nice job Jason! Congrats on the 5K. It’s always nice to realize different goals, nothing to it but to do it.

  3. Best of luck with the $50 challenge! I keep going back and forth on FinCon. With MBA classes starting this Fall (first semester for me) I think I’ll pass. Just too much going on and burnout is very likely in the Fall for me.

  4. Sounds like a great month! The Penny Hoarder shared one of my posts too and it was great 🙂 I would love to do a 5k but I need to work on getting my tolerance up with running. Good luck on your eBay sales, I’m sure your $50 plan will help!

    • I wish the Penny Hoarder would share a post each month lol. That 5K was no joke. I was hurting for a couple days afterwards.
