5 Fun St. Patrick’s Day Destinations

5 Fun St. Patrick's Day DestinationsDepending on where you live, St Patrick’s Day may not be a big deal. For these cities, it is a big deal. I have made a brief list of locations where people celebrate and party hard for that holiday. If you have the time, you may want to visit one of them. I guarantee that you will have a good time. Keep reading to learn more about the St. Patrick’s Day destinations.

Chicago, Illinois

Besides being one of the nest cities in the world, Chicago also does it big for St. Patricks Day. They have one of the biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the country. People from all over the country come to the Windy City to enjoy the holiday. They have two parades during the St. Patty’s day weekend. One of them is on the north side, and the other is on the south side. They also dye the river green which is pretty cool to see.

Savannah, Georgia

400,000 people or more each year can’t be wrong. St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah is very fun. The city dyes the water in the fountains green. Throughout the city, many bars and pubs also serve green beer. I’ve been in Savannah for St. Patrick’s Day many times. It has always been a fun time. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The third city on the list is Philadelphia. The oldest St. Patrick’s Day event in the country is held there. With over 200 years of history, you are bound to have an excellent time. Philly has several events during the St. Patty’s Day weekend such as a parade, Mass, breakfast and an awards ceremony.

New York City, New York

I’ve been to New York City a few times, but never during St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Word on the street is that NYC has the largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the world. With over 2 million guests I wouldn’t argue that at all. Over 140,000 people march in the parade. It is a can’t miss event. There are other things to do besides just going tp the parade. There are some Irish pub tours that you can check out. Also, there is a good chance that the New York Knicks will be in town. In the past, they’ve had home games at Madison Square Garden and has donned their green jerseys.

Boston, Massachusetts

The final place to visit for St. Patrick’s Day is Boston. There is an enormous Irish population in the city. The green beer will be flowing heavily in this city. Besides the parade, Boston will also have a pub crawl, live music, a witchcraft walk and more. If you’re a basketball fan, you should go and watch the Boston Celtics play.

St. Patrick’s Day weekend will be here before you know it. The five cities that I mentioned above are just a few of the places that will be celebrating the holiday. If you are going out for St. Patty’s Day make sure that you are wearing green. If not, you will get pinched. IF you don’t have a shirt for St. Patty’s Day, you can search for one here. If you’re going to be drinking, don’t drive. Use a service like Uber. Get $20 off of your first ride by signing up at this link.

  1. I think there is nothing more fun than Chicago on St Patrick’s Day! But that’s because, of these locations, that’s the only place I’ve celebrated!

  2. I would love to see a St. Patty’s Day celebration in any of those cities. I was in Savannah a couple of years ago right before the big day so saw everything being set up, but not the insanity that resulted. River Street is always fun though down there.
