3 Simple Ways to Get Shipping Boxes

Shipping BoxesMy eBay side hustle is still going well. When sending off items, it could be a pain if you don’t know where to get boxes from. I have 3 simple ways for you to get shipping boxes. I will explain them below.

Get them from USPS

free usps boxesYou may or may not know this, but the USPS offers free priority shipping boxes. They offer several sizes such as small, medium and large flat rate boxes. Those boxes come with insurance as well. There are a couple ways for you to get them. The first way is to order them on the USPS website. In a few days you will receive a few boxes of each size. The other way to get them is to go to your local post office and pick them up. They should have a section or display for them. If they don’t one of the associates working should be able to help you.

Check with your neighborhood stores

The next way to get free shipping boxes is to check with stores in your neighborhood. A lot of stores get shipments multiple days of the week. After they unpack the inventory, they usually just throw the empty boxes away. You can check behind the back of the store near the dumpster to see if they have what you need or you could do what I do. I go to my local Family Dollar and ask the manager if they have any boxes that they are getting rid of that day. He lets me go to their stock room and grab whatever I want. I’ve been getting boxes this way for a year now.

Purchase them

The third way for you to get boxes is to go to a store and buy them. You really shouldn’t have to use this option unless you are looking for a specific sized box. Who really wants to spend money on boxes when shipping is enough already? I’ve never had to purchase a box though. I’ve been lucky enough to find boxes the right sizes using the first two options.

There you have it. Three 3 simple ways to get shipping boxes are to get them from the USPS, check with your neighborhood stores and to buy them. if you ship on eBay or Amazon you will want to make sure that you have boxes available at all times. Yo

Do you know of any other ways to get boxes? Feel free to comment below.

  2. “I go to my local Family Dollar and ask the manager if they have any boxes that they are getting rid of that day. He lets me go to their stock room and grab whatever I want. I’ve been getting boxes this way for a year now.” Excellent idea. I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this. It’s a great idea for people who are moving who need extra boxes. When I worked in IT in college I would always take the printer boxes when they were empty. We are still using some of them and they are literally about 6 years old.

  5. Flat Rate Boxes are a simple way to ship. If you can fit it in the box, it ships at the same price every time.

  6. You can basically find shipping cases anywhere. I think if you want official cases, you can go to the post office like you had mentioned. There are also other places that specifically make shipping cases for various uses. I think it would be smart to check that place out because you can get exactly the right type of shipping container that you want.

  7. Hi Buddy..
What a wonderful post you have shared with us..I think the idea of a shipping container is definitely interesting. I don’t know if I’d be able to pull it off personally, but I’ve seen some pretty cool designs online for that type of containers.
Regardless of what you decide to do with the container, it sounds like you have plenty of options you are willing to explore! This is very creative and unique! Nice work! Thanks so much for sharing! I will look forward for more information from you.
    Have a nice day ahead..
