2016 Goals

2016 goalsHappy New Year everyone! It feels like I just wrote my 2015 goals post. It’s crazy how fast time is going by. 2015 was a hell of a year. I completed 51% of my goals. The previous year I finished 55% of them. Did I have a bad year goals wise?  Nope, it just means that I need to work a little harder in 2016. I have at least one goal that I want to complete each month. Some are big while others are small. I will share two of them with y’all shortly. Before I do that let’s go back over the two goals that I posted for 2015 to see how I did.

2015 Goals

Goal #1 – 500 Facebook likes for The Butler Journal’s Facebook page.

Goal #2 – Have my credit union loan paid off.

How did I do?

Goal #1 – FAIL

I honestly forgot about this goal once I missed the deadline. It was so much going on that I didn’t take the time to make it a priority. I’m going make it happen this year. If you’re reading this and you haven’t liked my page you can do so HERE.

I paid that loan off at the beginning of December. It was a great feeling to have another debt gone. I will use this momentum to knock off a few more this year. With discipline and more side hustling, I WILL make that happen.

Now it’s time to discuss my 2016 goals. Below are the 2 that I am sharing with you this year.

Goal #1 – $1000 per month online

Goal #2 – Have my BOA credit card under $1000 by Nov 15th.

Both these goals are attainable as long as I stay focused. I’ve recently started freelancing so I plan on ramping that up very soon. I may even pick up a part-time job to make sure that goal number 2 is accomplished possibly. For some hustle season might be over, but for me, it’s still in the 1st quarter.

How did you do 2015 goals wise? What are a few goals that you have for 2016?

  1. I like that your goals are simple, manageable and attainable. I have no doubt you’ll find a way to achieve them. I wish you much success in 2016.

  3. Those all seem like reasonable goals. What’s your BOA card balance at right now? Depending on the balance and how much income you have and how much cash flow you can direct to it, you may even be able to beat your goal. I’m continually amazed at how financial discipline seems to result in either effectively giving yourself a pay raise or in your employer rewarding you for being such a productive employee. Best of luck this year!

  4. Congrats on reaching one of your goals! I like your 2016 goals and $1k/month online side income was my goal a couple years ago and it’s continued to be a goal of mine. There’s just something awesome about making $1k+/month from online side hustles.

  5. Great job on your goals and knocking out some of that credit card debt. My main goal for 2016 is to pay off as much debt as I can.

  6. Good luck on your goals for 2016! Mine are very similar — pay down debt, and build up my online side jobs! 🙂
