August Update

Can you believe that it’s already August 1st? That means a few things. Football will be here soon. Classes will also be starting soon for students. It also means that summer is winding down.

So far my summer has been interesting. I’m working hard on my blog and other side ventures. I am also working two part time gigs. I love having the time to do different things and not be stuck in a boring job, but I’ve came to the conclusion about one thing.

I have to find another full time opportunity. Even though I’m earning money and saving a small amount I still haven’t been able to make a crack in my debt repayment plan. I set that goal to accomplish it, not to bull sh*t about it. The old me would have gotten frustrated or pissed off, but I realize that there is no need for that. I now understand that I need to get a full time opportunity to make that happen or hit the lottery 🙂 .

For the last couple of months I have been looking for opportunities where I can make a decent amount of money but also feel like I’m not stuck in a dead end situation as well. I’ve had a few interviews but nothing has materialized yet. I know my time is coming very soon. 2014 has definitely been a year of growth for me. Instead of running from it or being stressed out I am embracing the change and growth. I know that one day I will be able to look back and smile about this situation in a year or so.

How has your summer been going? Have things been working out for you? Have you had any roadblocks come your way? Feel free to comment below.

  1. Jason your attitude is wonderful. Many of us have had set backs and life is not what we want but life is a journey and lesson is something we learn along the way that helps us through the next obstacle,

  2. This summer has gone by way too quickly. Every year seems to be going by quicker than the last. I wish I was able to go on more trips this summer but due to wanting to save more money into my emergency fund, I only went on trips close by.

  3. Good for you in not getting teed off…pushing ahead and not giving up! I just get the feeling that with that kind of can do it attitude, you will go very far. And not just in the short term, but you are setting your self up for lifetime success:)

  5. Yes, this summer has flown by for me too! Too much to do and not enough time. Keep the positive attitude on the job front. When you least expect it the right thing will come along.

  6. It’s great that you keep looking ahead and not let yourself get too ticked off. Keep at your master plan and things will start to fall into place sooner or later, they always do. Summer for me has been a good one for being back in the Idaho mountains. Next up? Oktoberfest in Munich 🙂

  7. Good luck on the job hunt! I’m sure you’ll do great. It can be such a challenging time, but I think if you’re open to it and putting yourself out there you’ll find something that suits you well. I think too many people go into a job hunt asking what they can provide the employer, that’s all good and well but what will the job provide you with? Skills? Experience? etc etc. Your time is your most precious asset and if you’re going to invest it in a company, you best be getting some good returns.

My month of July was good, trying to find a balance between travel and work in August!

  8. Sounds like you are totally grounded Jason. The fact is some things are just out of our control. I’m having a situation with my publisher with – delay, delay, delay. What I discovered with 2 published authors is this is typical. That helped me get back to directing my daily practice of gratitude directly on the small things moving along with the publisher. In this way I can keep on smiling!

  9. Hi Jason – for what it’s worth, you have my support and I just know you will soon reach your goal. With an attitude like yours, you can’t miss. All the best.
