Time is flying by. Can you believe that it’s October already? My birthday is this month. Goodbye to my twenties.
Besides being my birth month, October is also the time for fall midterms. I have compiled a list of 7 ways to help you stay focused. That way you will have a better chance of passing your midterms.
Get enough rest
You have to make sure that you get enough rest at night. You can only do so many all-nighters before you crash. If you get a decent amount of rest your body will thank you for it. You will feel refreshed and you will be able to focus and think better.
Watch less TV
Try not to watch too much TV. The more TV you watch the less focused on studying you will be. TV (especially reality TV) will not help you pass your classes.
Use social media less
You will never be able to focus if you’re on social media all the time. Don’t get me wrong I use facebook and twitter as well, but you can’t be on them all the time. I know they can be addicting, but I would rather be worried about trying to pass my classes instead of the next trending topic.
Have a good place to study
You need a good place to study so that you can get your work done. Sometimes the best place to study may not always be in your dorm room either. Your campus should have more than enough study rooms in the library. Also some of the other buildings on your campus should have places where you can study as well.
Organization is the key for everything. A good thing to do is to get a planner and write down what days you would like to study. That way it will make it easier for studying to become a habit. If you’re not organized you’ll never be able to focus on anything.
Joining a study group is another way to help you stay focused. The group motivates and helps each other to learn whatever they are studying at the time.
I would say that this is common sense, but common sense is not common anymore. This tip coincides with getting enough rest. The less you party, the more rest you will get. The more rest that you get, the better that you will be able to focus. Do you see the pattern?
These are just a few ways to help you say focused. They can definitely help you. What are some other ways out there to help you stay focused?
